Capital of Denmark is a city of nearly 1000 years history and 2 million metropolitan population today. Located on the eastern shore of Zealand island, Copenhagen is very popular stop for many ships during Baltic cruises. Besides friendly atmosphere, the city has a lot to offer for its visitors. Although Copenhagen is a big city, most of its highlights are located within a pretty small area of Downtown called Indre By. Harbours where most of the cruise ships dock are located close enough to this area which makes possible and easy sightseeing centre of Copenhagen on foot.
During our walking tour you will see a Little Mermaid in Langelinie – symbol of the city, well preserved fortress of Kastellet, the Queens Palaces of Amalienborg – impressive complex of four rococo palaces and one of a kind Marble Church (Frederikskirken) with characteristic copper green dome. We will walk along major boulevard called Amalienhavn and take a look at the Opera, Christiansborg (Parliament). On our way will also be Nyhavn Canal, Latin Quarter with old buildings and churches and Stroget – most popular street of Copenhagen only for pedestrians. We will finish our walk at the Central Square so you can come back to port after having some free time on your own.
