The cradle of Solidarity movement, place where on 1 September 1939 the opening shots of World War 2 were fired but first of all one of the most beautiful cities in northern Europe with history that stretches back more than 1000 years. Visit Gdansk – once the wealthiest city in Poland called Hanseatic granary of Europe and hometown of many famous people like: astronomer Jan Hevelius, physicist G. D. Fahrenheit, philosopher A. Shopenhauer, German writer and Nobel Prize winner Gunter Grass and finally Lech Walesa – historic leader of Solidarity movement and president of Poland. We offer many different options for sightseeing this amazing city. If you are coming to Gdansk on a cruise ship, you will probably dock in port of Gdynia (20 km from the center of Gdansk). Depending on how much free time you have we offer you 3 different basic versions of the city tour:
1 Highlights of Gdansk
On this tour we will focus on Old Town of Gdansk. We will walk along its main streets like: Dlugi Targ, Mariacka and see High Gate, Golden Gate, Green Gate and Prison Tower. We will also see the symbol of the old port – the Old Crane on the Motlawa river, largest brick-built church in Europe – The Church of St Mary and the heart of Old Town – fountain of Neptune in front of Artus Court. On the way back to port in Gdynia we will stop in Oliwa District and admire Oliwa Park and Cathedral with famous Organ Loft.

2 Highlights of Gdansk & Sopot
Program of this tour includes everything that is included in option number 1 plus Monument to the Shipyard Workers at Solidarnosci Square in Gdansk and visit in Sopot – fancy sea resort on the Baltic coast located between Gdansk and Gdynia. We will take a look at the longest wooden pier in Europe here and walk along Bohaterow Monte Cassino street with lots of shops, cafes, restaurants and a pearl of modern architecture – Crooked House.

3 TriCity Tour
Program of this tour includes everything that is included in option number 2 plus Lech Walesa’s house in Oliwa, mosque in Gdansk and Westerplatte Memorial – place where on 1 September 1939 German battleship opened fire on Polish ammunition dumps in the Free City of Gdansk. You will see the ruined barracks, concrete bunkers and huge Monument to the Defenders of Westerplatte.
