Along Polish coastline, there are 17 lighthouses. They are located in Świnoujście, Kikut, Niechorzu, Kołobrzeg, Gąski, Darłowo, Jarosławiec, Ustka, Czołpin, Stilo, Rozewie, Jastarnia, on Hel, in Sopot, Gdańsk as well as in Krynica Morska.
Each lighthouse is different. They were built by Poles and Germans. They are made with red or sometimes yellow brick. Lighthouses have one or two lights, they are oval or rectangular, but each of them is unique.
The lighthouse in Krynica Morska is situated on the highest hill of Krynica Morska. It was build by a craftsman from Elbląd – Edward Stach, rebuilt after the WWII. It is 26,5 metres high.
In Gdansk, there are two lighthouses: in the North Port and on the New Port. The lighthouse in the New Port was built in 1894. It is 31,3 m high and has an octagonal shape. Inside the lighthouse, there is located a museum. The lighthouse in the North Port is the youngest in the Polish coastline.
The lighthouse on Hel is 41,7 m high and the light beam is 18m.
In Jastarnia, there is located one of the smallest lighthouses in Poland. It was built in 1950. It is 13,3 metres high and 15-metres light beam.
The most popular Polish lighthouse is situated on Rozewie. It was erected in 1822. It is 32,7 meteres high. The lighthouse houses an exhibition of all Polish lighthouses scale-models.
The lighthouse in Czolpino is located in Slowinski National Park, on a high sand dune. It is 25,2 m high, and thanks to its location, its lights is situated on 75 m.
In Kolobrzeg there are a rebuilt lighthouse which houses a museum.
The most wonderful lighthouse is located in Niechorze. It is located on 20-metres cliff.
The highest and one of the oldest lighthouses is located in Swinoujscie. It was built in 1854-1857. In the adjacent to the lighthouse building, there is a museum of lighthouses and sea rescue.
