Mannerheimintie, shortly Mansku, is the main street in Helsinki, leading north from city center towards Tampere. Named after national hero, military leader from the Finnish Civil War and Winter War, Carl Gustaw Emil Mannerheim.


The equestrian statue of him decorate the street close to Kiasma modern art museum. Among other cultural institutions on the street there are Engel's Swedish Theatre, National Museum, and much newer Finlandia Hall and Helsinki Opera House.
Mansku is also passing by Parliament House, the biggest department store in Finland - Stockmann, and a huge sports centre around the Olimpyc Stadium. The street complete every need of Helsinki citizens and visitors, so no wonder, that it's the busiest area in the city.
