It starts at a Palace Square, and finish at the Alexander Nevsky square, close to the Alexander's Lavra (Monastery). The monastery is a place of burial of the 13th century ruler Alexander, who defeated Swedish and German armies at river Neva.
On the Nevsky Prospekt stands some of most important Peterburg monuments. Kazan Cathedral, Sviato- Troysky Cathedral stands together with Romano-Catholic church of st. Catherine, Lutheran Church of st. Peter and Paul and Armenian church. The Stroganov Palace and Anichkov Palace are the most beautiful examples of Rastrelii Baroque, and the second one is located over Anichkov bridge, decorated with horse statues.
